The House
Situated on five hectares of woods and prairie, La Rougie is a newly renovated stone farmhouse. The inn, owned and operated by Franco-American couple Kelly and François, was inspired by the desire to create a fresh boutique accommodation experience with a focus on what is dear to their hearts : food, beverage, care-taking.
Ideally located within arm's reach to the villages and sites that may beckon you whilst here in the Dordogne, La Rougie is far enough removed that you feel tucked away in the dense nature of the region. Get lost along the paths that meander through the surrounding forests, picking up some chestnuts along the way, or stay close by with a book and a glass of wine. There are no televisions on the property and you are naturally invited to engage with nature and each other.
The Rooms
At La Rougie, we have consciously decided to cultivate an intimate and naturally simple environment.
As such, we have three guest rooms from which to choose when booking your stay with us.
Each room is designed uniquely in spirit, but they all carry the same core raw elements and attention to detail.
Adorned with plush beddings, organic linens, and natural toiletries, we hope you will feel comfortable and at ease with us and a sense of familiarity during your time on the property.
Our duplex, with private entrance from the terrace, will greet you with five meter lofted ceilings and views out to the woods that surround the property. A queen-size bed is nestled on the mezzanine. (€250/night)
Our A-framed room is light and airy, with exposed farm beams. This room can be reserved with a king-size bed or two singles. (€230/night)
Our final room offers you sunset views from your bathroom window along with local chestnut floors and oak ceilings to add to the warmth and coziness. This room has a king-size bed. (€230/night)
